Stretching An essential action for warming up your muscles and ligaments before an intense workout, and for cooling down afterwards, the importance of stretching cannot be overstated. In addition to improving your flexibility, stretching also helps you to avoid injury.
Push-Ups This classic exercise is great for working your pectorals, deltoids, triceps, and abdominals. Varying your hand positions is a great way to focus on different muscles, and there’s also the “plank”. Planks entail staying rigid in the “up” position of a push-up, resting on your hands or elbows for anywhere from 10 seconds up to 5 minutes, and are a great way to challenge your core strength and endurance.
Sit-Ups and Crunches Work your abdominals with sit-ups or crunches, varying your workout by coming up the center, to the right, or to the left. Tuck your toes under a piece of furniture if it helps to give you leverage during sit-ups.
Running Technically, you do need some equipment for running, but if you’ve got a well-fitting pair of comfortable shoes, you should be good to go. Running is great for cardio endurance, and works your entire body.
